...a suburban house pet, which one would you choose? (lets exclude monkeys, chinchillas, alligators, raccoons, etc...)

So what? You're limiting it to cats, dogs, small rodents, amphibians, and reptiles?

None of the above. Boring.

Where'd you come up with alligators for suburban house pets? A crocodile, maybe. They've written books about it...but alligators? Seriously.

So, how about a ferret, do these count? They are the smartest animal behind most species of dog.
