You have to take test...

...in an academic setting (gross I know), what format would you prefer? (multiple choice, short answer, True/False, essay,etc...)

short answer, followed by essay

I love those easy multiple choice questions...let's not lie...unless you're taking a Dr. Zimmerman cellular biology exam...but I also like when it's on a scantron and the fully filled in bubbles start to make pictures!

But in the end I feel better when I take short answer and essay tests. Because sometimes I study a lot harder for a test that ends up multiple choice (and in this case ESPECIALLY with science tests). I want to be able to prove that I know what I'm talking about. Plus when people make good grades on tests heavy in the multiple choice and true/false who would have bombed a short answer test I do get a little miffed.

Cruel, perhaps, but true.

Also, I tend to think about multiple choice and true/false too much. Like recently when I took my phlebotomy course. I swear I made more sense than the teacher did. There were clearly some tricky questions that she couldn't understand WHY they were tricky. I didn't like having to dumb myself down to take them. Or on the other hand when you're taking things like Dr. Zimmerman tests and you can convince yourself FULLY on 2-3 answers. Not good.

Essays I don't tend to like because I always start trying to get so much out of my brain so fast I get the wrist cramp. I hate wrist cramps.

essay, the whole thing as an essay

In college, I think I really liked Dr. Ramsey's tests that you got to choose (he had multiple choice/short answer/essay) and we could pick as long the points assigned all added up. Whatever tests Dr. Hobbie had I absolutely dreaded.

I prefer blue books to scantrons.
