Does it seem...

...that supervillians are usually more interesting and complex than superheros? In general, do they seem to be more powerful individuals?

Would this blog...

me more enjoyable to visit with more pictures? What other improvements could be made here?

Capitalism, like it or not...

..At a time when many "environmentalist" would say that the gov't of these United States has not taken this global warming threat seriously, or to say the least has set unambitious/lackadaisical goals for moving to alternative energy, there is a clear trend in the consumer's market for buying more energy efficient and environmentally friendly products. Obviously much of this is due to inflated gas prices, but this consumer trend seems to be forcing industry into change faster than government regulations, and at least some of that seems due to reasons other than expensive gas. So my questions are: Does capitalism work for the good of the people the majority of the time? How about for the majority of the people? Can anyone can think of other examples of this kind of change (you can include consumers boycotting specific goods, but I would specifically like to hear examples of the market trends pushing for change)? Experiences many of you have in other countries may be relevant also.

(I realize many of you may think the consumer wave is not pushing for a fast enough change, but answer the question for what it is if possible)

More impressive...

...the fact that Nolan Ryan could throw a baseball 100 miles an hour, or that Andy Roddick could serve serve a tennis ball 150 miles an hour?

If you had a super power...

...would you rather it be due to magic or genetics? Either way you could control it and the power would, of course, be of equal strength either way. discuss/convince me.

How many of the names on this list...

...would you not recognize as US Presidents if someone were to mention them randomly?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States

Of the 42, how many do you know anything about? (anything beyond recognizing the name counts)

Heres a classic...

...if you were stuck on an island and could bring one writers entire catalog, who would bring bring? lets say you will be on the island for the next 25 years. also consider what type of literature you will be in the mood for on an island.

(something else you can respond to, in regards to the question "if you could bring one cd with you on an island...", do most people simply not think about the fact that there will not be any power source on the island, or are people assuming there is a lifetime supply of batteries, or do people assume they are on a civilized island but they only get one cd?)

(also it is everything I have not to ask a LOST question while on the island scenario questions)

In the spirit of March Madness...

...you may have witnessed the FOX television event "Kobayashi vs the Bear" in a hot dog eating contest. if not you can watch that Here . It is as it sounds, Kobayashi, the greatest hot dog eating champion of perhaps all time, went against a hungry bear in a hot dog eating contest. While it was closer than it should've been, the bear did win, but it makes me wonder, if Kobayashi had won, would that have been the greatest upset of all time? If not, what is? (consider "David v. Goliath", or "John Henry v. the machine", "Davidson v. Georgetown",etc...)

Can anyone think of anything...

Given the choice...

...would you choose to be the greatest tap dancer of all time, or someone like say, Donovan McNabb (a possible hall of fame Quarter back, but will never be discussed as the greatest)? In other words, rather be the biggest fish in a medium pond, or a very large fish in a gigantic pond?

Now while both...

...of these men's eyes hint at their destiny for greatness, which one's eyes most define the innocence of hope?

If you were mayor...

...of a big city and your city had an evil crime boss running illegal activities problem, which crime fighter would you employ, assuming you had to employ one, and given the budget for only one, Darkwing Duck or Inspector Gadget? (also they DO NOT come with sidekicks, such as that little girl penny and the dog, or launch pad and Gausline (sp?), But they DO come with gadgets and automobiles.)

About naps...

If you are planning on taking a late afternoon 30 minute nap, would you prefer doing it before the sunset (both fall asleep and awaken in light), after sunset (going to sleep and awakening in the dark), or on the brink (falling asleep in the light and awakening in the dark)?

What is the biggest reason....

...that more people don't watch PBS's New Hour? lack of flashy graphics, slower pace/ too much time spent on each issue, lack of commercial breaks, choice of stories, Jim Lehrer and the cast?

Opinion...

...do owls and other animals that see well in the dark sleep as well as animals that don't have that gift? It must be like the lights are on all the time right? Are they perhaps more uneasy because they can always see whats going on? Is that why so many of them are nocturnal?????

Which is the cooler natural phenomenon...

...lightning or volcanoes? Why?

If life WAS fair...

...what would be the most boring part of it?

In your heart of hearts...

...what percentage of people you encounter would you say that you are more intelligent than?

If you could...

...turn into one animal whenever you wanted, what would it be?

Lets Start With an Easy One...

How many people would you guess have ever actually counted how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?
