note: this is not a gender specific question though I have chosen to write it in the masculine.
note 2: "Shoes" are in fact being used here as a metaphor- just to clear up any confusion.

(note, not an answer to the question but a genuine response nonetheless which is just as valid.)
haven't you just set up a paradox or something? Or at least posed a deeper question? Since a four year old doesn't really know what comfort is, can he really be "comfortable?" And further more, I'm disinclined to believe anyone, regardless of age ever reaches true "comfort". Maybe the 85 year old has just learned to return to the state of a four year old where it doesn't matter anymore.
