...between rain jackets and umbrellas?

I am actually really glad you asked this question, Blair.

I hate raincoats. They always make your arms sweaty, and when you pull up the sleeves, you look like you got weird gunk all over your wrists. The anoraks I wear are even worse: In the winter time, they actually let the wind in, providing zero protection against the elements.

Umbrellas rule.

Raincoats. You don't have to hold them and you can bundle them up or wear them around your waist (totally classy-nerd) or over your shoulder. Umbrellas must be carried.

And I'm assuming you mean for rain, otherwise there's no real reason to compare the two.

...I mean, there are reasons I suspect, but it's the logical context...

Unless of course you consider umbrella hats...
