Would you consider...
...more of the art that moves you to be predominately sad or happy? (for discussion's sake, lets include lonely, hopeless, painful, disturbing, and such with sad, while joyful, funny, heart-warming, and such should be included with happy) You can offer explanation if you feel like it, but it isn't required.

maybe a bit dreamlike, definitely not realistic.
and dreams can be sad or happy but overall, i guess i like art that is a bit somewhere else - somewhere one hasn't thought of going (yet). and that more times than not, sad.
favorite artists of all time:
schiele
basquiat
el greco
blair hartman
Sad; probably more along the realistic bent. Not necessarily nihilistic or anything, but the art that strikes most true to me is art which expresses a fair amount of existential questioning. And somehow that's usually sad.
(Maybe it's because I just watched La Dolce Vita this afternoon...)
