...and had to be in charge of permanently catching either Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Jerry (from Tom and Jerry), or Tweety Bird, who would you choose? Who would be the last one you would choose?
Tweety bird. He was always the easiest; it was usually outside forces that got in the way, or Murphy's Law, if you will. More like, Sylvester just found himself really unfortunate and on the wrong end of some bad luck.
Last I would chose is the Road Runner. I don't care if you came up with the perfect contraption, regardless of all ACME products' ineffectiveness, that sucker is fast.
You also should add in Speedy Gonzales and Hippety Hopper (the kangaroo joey). Potentially even Penelope Pussycat (Pepe's love, although, to be fair he was pretty good at showing up exactly where she was going), or to be in charge of stopping Bunny and Claude.
I think the main thing to keep in mind is that the people put in charge of catching these characters were kind of inept. So the usual things that worked for the "good guys" to escape their captors were wits and cunning, stuff that probably wouldn't work on someone with half a brain. So you'd have to default to their natural animal defenses. Which is why road runner would probably be the hardest, and maybe Speedy after that.
I think Bugs might be the only candidate for still being able to use his wits against a reasonably intelligent person. And he's a rabbit. Why did he never just hop away? He only ran...why is that?
I asked Peter this question and he took a completely different perspective.
His immediate response was an "I dunno, whoever goes after those guys usually ends up in bad shape."
He said if he had to pick, though, he'd pick Road Runner, because he'd "get" to use all those gadgets. Maybe Bugs Bunny would be second, the reason being he thinks Bugs always cracks him up. An interesting thought considering his humor is usually a product of his would-be captor being on the bad end of a joke or set-up.
The last to chase would be Penelope Pussycat because she wouldn't be that fun to chase.
Thought about it in a completely different way, not who would be easier to catch, but if you were stuck in a perpetual loop of chasing one of them, who would be the most enjoyable. He's so smart, so loveable.
