this depends...when you say "take", do you mean battle and win, or simple most ferocious to battle? and must this creature be alive, or are any animals from history available? if you have to win, and lets assume we can spar with any time period creature, then i would say a mongoose...if winning is not a stipmulation, then obviously its a veloci-raptor.
Maybe a small feral pig. Or a tiny crocodile. Humans have very few natural defenses, and without tools we are useless. I mean people are killed by dogs pretty regularly, and dogs aren't even that ferocious.
